The Securities and Exchange Commission on August 26, 2020 adopted amendments to the definition of “accredited investor” to: add new categories of investors (both for individuals and entities); codify long-standing SEC staff interpretations; and make conforming changes to the definition of “qualified institutional buyer” under Rule 144A.
